My fave was the Carling Black Lable add where the drink used to slide across the counter. Think it was early to mid 70's. Absolutely no idea why it had such an impact on me, maybe the music and the fact it stayed on the counter. Bit sad really:rolleyes: The other was Camey soap, where you were led to believe it would keep you young looking. We really believed it back then, we'd all go "wow she only looks about twenty" So gullible:D

For some reason always remember an ad from late 70s or early 80s. It was for a handcream, a woman scrunches up a big brown leaf into pieces. Then she tries to scrunch up another leaf, but this one has been coated with the handcream, and it stays in one piece. Think it could have been Vaseline or Atrixo. The old Flake ads too, especially the one with a little boy with glasses on a train, sucking the bits out of the end of the packet with a straw.

I'm 99% sure that was an Atrixo ad. For some reason it remains very vivid in my mind.

Ooh yes, I think you are right there. Seem to remember the cream being pink, which would fit. Ha, Ulay! Years since it was called that now:)

    Here's something cool.

Nice for an ad to actually just flat out use source material for once rather than just constantly ripping it off and pretending it's an original idea. I think I'd kill myself if I had to work in that industry.

Trivia: The beer supposed to have been used in the novel that 'Ice Cold in Alex' was based on was 'Rheingold'..but it was thought to sound too German, so Carlsberg was substituted.

Numerous takes had to be done, by the final take the actor was a little woozy.

I thought it might have been Vaseline Intensive Care, not sure though.
