As the title says, just put my 360 online for the first time in ages and there is an offer to upgrade to Gold for 1 month for €1.

Be warned though, at the end of the first month it will automatically renew at the normal price unless you cancel it.

Thanks, this is a good deal but as you say they will renew automatically, and you have to give full credit card details etc.
When cancelling you have to actually call them and explain why you want to cancel and go through a list of questions, takes about 10 minutes..
still worth it i think.

To be fair I just rang and cancelled there and it took all of 6 minutes.

i have found live-codes.com (i think thats them) are great value compared to buying it from argos/ms etc

not sure if it's even worth a six minute call, 3 month codes can be gotten for a shade over a tenner, so it only costs €3.50 per month anyway

What if my card gets declined next month?
I did hear of retrogamer getting his account banned...but this can't be standard can it?

I got banned for 6 months after doing this with a 3v card. back then it was notoriously impossible to cancel your card. ill never go through them again the pricks. live codes etc ftw.

I mostly play offline...so wouldn't effect me too much I guess..but still.
Almost grabbed this offer yesterday...wanted to get a demo that's gold only til tomorrow..but my 3v was declined..(1.20 on it...was some sort of 1 euro charge...then the 1 euro purchase approval that got declined..no idea what happened there)
guess I'll just wait until tomorrow if I want it and stick to online sites as you said if I do need a sub.

My card had lapsed but they kept on taking the money. I didn't know this and they locked the account after a few months. Said I owed them a few months back pay. I told them to go **** and that I would just open a new account. They said fine.

I gave up live altogether in the last few months.
