    Hi
Does anyone have any ideas whay might cause the rcd to trip out when you turn on the dishwasher, would it be the element or something else. If it is the element are they easy to change.

What make/model is the machine ?
If the rcd is tripping then there is obviously a short-circuit somewhere. The element is probably the most likely cause and in a lot of machines it is visible at the bottom and a close examination would probably show a hole or burnt spot in it.
Some machines, (eg;Siemens) have the element concealed and this would not be readily visible though.
Lets know how you get on.

The dishwasher would trip out immediately when you turned it on, i noticed some water was still in the bottom of the dishwasher and it wasn't going to drain. The following day this water was gone and when my wife tried it again she said that it worked. It's a strange one to be honest. Would a blocked drain cause it to trip out. It couldn't be a faulty element now as it would still be tripping if it was.

Soory if I'm hijacking the thread but may be the same issue here. I've an electrolux d/w . I've the same problem although I don't know what RCD means. It starts up fine and then after a while trips the fuse box for all the sockets in the house. WHen I open the door it is hot in there so element would appear to still be working? Any ideas?
