Problems after Logic Board Replacement

A week ago, my Macbook Pro presented me with the dreaded screen of death. I did the research, so I knew it was a well-known problem with the Logic Board which I subsequently got replaced for free. I got my MBP back on Friday but I was advised not to use the battery which is showing signs of swelling up. I will get it replaced on Tuesday. So now I am working without the battery and on power supply. However... my MBP feels strange to me :(:

    - I am working with Windows office a lot (I cannot use any alternatives as it's all job-related) and am noticing significant delays in displaying what I'm typing. I have done everything I could find on the net on this problem (checked CPU, changed a few settings in Word etc.), but nothing helped.

    - Secondly, my browser (Opera 10.53) is showing slightly blurred images and quite significant delays and stumbles during scrolling and, again, typing.

    - While my MBP was gone, I downloaded an app on my iPod. When I connected the iPod again, iTunes informed me that unless I authorised this computer as my second of five computers, it would immediately delete this new app. WTH?? I clicked authorise, but it annoys me as it simply isn't a new computer - it's the only one I ever used for this iPod!

    - Last but not least, one of my audio output devices (DSS-player) is having trouble stopping. I press stop - and experience another delay, i.e. it continues playing for a second or two.

Now, while I noticed none of these problems prior to the logic board replacement, I am still not sure if any of this really has anything to do with the new logic board. I am not exactly an expert and would like some input... Is there anything I could check to see if it works the way it's supposed to? Can a new logic board cause any such problems? Is it down to the battery being out?

    Any advice is welcome!

    Update:

I have restored a backup from Time Machine and that seems to have done the trick. Everything seems back to normal for now, even though I couldn't find any difference in settings etc. Ah well.
