Small Claims for non payment for services?

    Hi there

Just looking for a bit of advise really...
A friend of mine does some gigs sometimes as a dj.
He did quite a few gigs for an establishment in Dublin City that racked up to nearly 800euro, but has not been payed for his services, and the owner is now not taking his calls etc.
Can this be taken to small claims court? I had a look at citizens information, and it does say that business can claim against business in certain circumstances, but he is not technically a business really or is he?

    Cheers in advance.
    F

p.s please note, not looking for legal advise, just on the workings of small claims. Cheers

The small claims court does not deals with debt claims. The District Court is the only option for debts up to €6,300.
