    Few questions;

    1. Wii Component cable – is this worth getting for a larger computer monitor? and does a component cable let me plug directly to stereo system?

    2. Do people recommend the classic controller over the old gamecube one?

    3. Is it necessary to get a memory card or will the onboard memory let me download enough games from the store.

    4. Is there a cheaper way of getting points for the store? (eg buying vouchers online)

    I have a component cable for a 42 inch TV, and I'd say it's only a minor but noticeable improvement over SCART. Probably the best option available on Wii tbh, not sure about stereo.
    2. Do people recommend the classic controller over the old gamecube one?

    The classic controller has a better D-Pad, so maybe worth it for downloaded retro games. Think it feels a little... flimsy or something (plus, it weirdly plugs into the Wiimote) so if you're looking to play Smash Bros I'd prefer the Gamecube controller.
    3. Is it necessary to get a memory card or will the onboard memory let me download enough games from the store.

    Depends on how many you want to download. I have a good 5 or 6 games - mostly Mega Drive / SNES era - and still lots of space left. If you're going to be downloading lots of WiiWare, N64 games etc... you might need a memory stick, but if you only want a few you're fine with onboard.

    Not sure about 4, so I'll leave that to someone else to answer!

    I've not modded anything. I always stay away from modding, unless it's out of warranty and legal.
