I know of a .22PPC used for Benchrest. The owner is very happy, but I've not seen it in action myself. I seem to recall hearing about a 6mmPPC out there somewhere as well, also meant to be a good shooter. Decent cartridge, but worth remembering it's only king inside 300m. Beyond that, the bigger 6mm cartridges take over. The 6mmBR Norma is very popular out to 600 and beyond, and completely dominates the 300m ISSF scene, which is a pretty accuracy crazy game. For more versatility, I'd take the 6BR, personally.

heard of 6mmppc before. very accuarte like the 6mmbr but last i heard they are a custom built rifle and have to hand load ammo for them. unless factory fodder is avasilable now

I was at the Super Shoot a few weeks ago - one of if not the biggest worldwide benchrest competitions. 16 odd countries represented, 400 competitors etc.
It's shot at 100 & 200 yards with 6PPC. 2 classes, light (10.5lb) & heavy gun (13.5lb). Astounding shooting with an aggregate group of sub 0.250" needed to get near the top 100

Conditions were tricky this year but the top group aggs were still in the high .1s & low .2s.

ALL the competitors were using 220 Russian (Lapua) cases necked up to 6mm.
    Fascinating sport & accuracy............outstanding.

Another calibre gaining respect and results over here in as well as in the rest of the world is the recently introduced Lapua 6.5x47.

All the accuracy of the 6x47 but with the 'extra mile' effect of a slightly larger case capacity and bullet...

A new one appeared on the gun-line yesterday....

Got a pic if anyone can post it for me - email me to get it.

can you buy a factory rifle chambered in 6.5x47
or is it a custom job?

Plenty of target rifles from the likes of Bleiker and Grunig and Elmiger (Who cooperated on the design of the round) come chambered in it.

    She's a custom build, Krieger/McMillan etc.
