I'm putting the band back together...

The basic idea is not uncommon: I've been playing on my own now for years, recording and gigging. Now I want to put a band together.

Here's what I sound like www.myspace.com/ianmartinsings. I'm playing guitar, keys, drums (badly) and singing on those songs but I know the majority of people out there can do it better.

Just kind of tired of gigging as a solo act and always jealous of the other bands I play with and the bigger sound they get. Obviously I've got a few polished songs good to go but I want to be creative with whomever I work with.

Plan in the medium term is to gig and write and gig and write for the next 7-8 months and go into the studio early next year. This is my plan regardless of whether I end up with a band out of this post.

I'm based in Dublin and I'm 27.

I'm not looking for session musicians, I'm looking for bandmates.

SO, if you like what you hear and play guitar, keys, synths, bass, drums, cello, violin, trumpet, tuba or anything at all then drop me line and let's see if we can get something going! Ideally would like people who can sing (or at the very least are not afraid to!).

Really like ur sound. and you did a good on those songs. so are you doing completely originals or do you plan to mix it up when you gig.

Depends on the venue and lenght of set but in general I'll throw in at least one cover. More interested in doing original tunes though!

Thats cool, just wanted to know. I play acoustic guitar mainly, but i dabble in the bass and know a few chords on the ol mandolin. I haven't gigged before just done open mike and a couple of seasons. But looking to get into gigging.

Had listen to your songs , really impressed. Really like what your about. I have been singing for 2 years and have done some recording work and some live gigs. You can have a listen to a couple of songs I've done on Myspace if you just look for "Iris Jackman". So if you looking for vocals or maybe just backing I would love to give it a go. Have done backings for a cover band and main, backing and harmonies for the original band. I also love to write songs and lyrics.
