    Hi All,

Hope some one can help me out here....

I have completed An Honours degree Level 8, Post Grad Diploma Level 9 and a Masters Level 10

I toyed with the idea of getting into teaching when filling out the Cao but took my chances with working in Industry.

I got a job when i graduated and got three years experience in engineering- I recently was made redundent and am now considering getting into secondary teaching.

    Here are my questions:

None of the above are listed by the teachers council - How long will it take to determine if my qualifications meet the criteria?

Can i do substitute work with my current qualifications in order to get a feel of what it is like to teach in the classroom

Do i need to do the Hdip to do Substitute work or even to get voluntary work experience ?

Should i try tutoring evening courses first before secondary school teaching

    Thanks in advance...

They charge a ridiculous amount to check a course - 2-300 I think - with no guarantee of being able to teach. Don't know how long it takes but my guess would be far longer than it should take

You can sub as a non-qualified person but schools are obliged to look for a qualified sub first

    No

Up to yourself but I suppose all experience counts
    Thanks in advance...

    It definitely getting tougher though...
