First port of call is to give up some information about what's happening and what you are doing. Such as...
    • Is this blank audio discs you speak of or DVD's? Are they showing up in iTunes/iDVD or your desktop?
    • What OS are you running?
    • Are your media softwares up to date?
    • Have you cleaned the disc player?
    • When did this start happening?

Give us a bit more specific info and we can help you better:)

    Hi Ham'n'egger,

    i) Blank audio & dvd discs. They cannot show in iTunes or on my desktop as the discs cannot load. They just eject after a couple of unsuccessful rotations.

    ii) Mac OS X.

iii) Media softwares all up to date.

iv) Must give cleaning the disc player a go. Any recommendations?

    v) This started happening a good while ago now.

    Thanks for your help;)

You could try and run this Firmware update and see if it helps

    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/superdrivefirmwareupdate30.html

In the meantime, I'd repair permissions in your Disc Utility as well to be on the safe side. As for a disc cleaner, any one will do fine though I'd go with Allsop solely as I have used them and like them plus much of their products are Irish made.

If it's still acting up then come back to us and we can trouble shoot before you do anything drastic.
