Irish or US iTunes account for iPad

    So, picked myself up an iPad this morning and have set up my existing Irish iTunes account on it.

    I am considering setting up a US iTunes account in order to have access to an increased number of Apps. Besides Netflix etc, is there any other popular apps that are missing from the Irish iTunes store?

    I am toying setting one up and may even set up that VPN thing so that I can access American content.

    Is it worth the hassle?

    Totally! Netflix. Hulu (on home pc). Pandora radio is great. Great stuff. Totally worth it.

    I recommend BlackVPN. Cheap and works. Use it myself.

    How does this work?

    I set up an american itunes account?

    This just requires an email address? and a fake address?

    I use an Irish credit card to buy US iTunes gift cards

    I presume this is the only way to buy stuff?

    Need a US VPN for a US IP

    From reading on the web this is not required, can you illucidate please

    You don't need a credit card to set up a US account. If you want to buy something you will need a US iTunes Gift Voucher. An Irish Credit Card wont work. You don't need a fake email address, infact I wouldn't recommend using a fake one incase you need to check receipts, forget your password etc.

    As for VPN, that depends on the App. Pandora requires a VPN, but Last.fm doesn't. I don't think Netflix would need a VPN, but would need a Netflix account of course. Typically Apps that offer streaming of TV Shows (TV.com App for example) require a VPN, so I an only assume the likes of the ABC App will need a VPN.
