No sound from Teac + Bose system

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions for this problem.

My Teac system and Bose Accoustimass speakers were working perfecly 10 minutes ago until about 30 mins ago. There seemed to be a slight 'pop' sound when I turned the system back on and now there's no audio.

I know these things can be hard to diagnose so I'll just confirm some settings.

    1. There is power to all 3 seperates (lights are showing)
    2. Volume is up and 'on' (but no sound)
    3. I have the proper input (ipod, cd, radio) selected...no sound from any
    4. All the wires to the subwoofer, system and speakers are exactly where they were when it was working 30 mins ago

Also, there's no sound from the headphones ...does that mean I can rule out the speakers and sub being the problem?

I'm relatively new to Stereos. This is the first time the system has been on in 1 year exactly. Prior to that it was used at a party and brand new...bought for that event and worked great there too.

Thanks for any suggestions or help you can give me.

Un-clip your Bose speakers from the speaker terminals on the back of the TEAC REF and connect one channel only (one of the connectors to the sub) to a 9v Battery. If you hear a "pop" noise the Bose are good.
If not then it most likely the amp+speakers gone.

(ps you did have your Teac connected to the sub then the BOSE AM5 yes?)

Just a thought but if there was a slight pop sound then it might be a problem with the mains power circuit of the system since it was not used for a year. You could check if there are separate power feeds from the mains for each component. This might help isolate the fault as it may originate with the amp.

If the headphones do not work either and assuming the headphones circuit is located in the amplifier then it might be a problem relating to the pre-amp circuit of the amplifier (before the power stage of the amplifier that supplies the watts which power the speakers).
