Hey lads, haven't been on in a while. hope you don't mind me putting this up.

Pro boxer John O'Brien is doing boxing classes the past while and he has now set up a website. www.thunderboltboxingbootcamp.com

He teaches all ages and the classes are for men and women, and it doesn't matter about experience.

He is also going to do some charity fight nights, similar to white collar. He has one coming up in July, all the fighters have been chosen but if anyone is interested in going or interested in fighting on the next one, all the details are on his website.

he hasn't yet, just not getting the fights Sligo.

I reckon he would love an irish title fight before he hangs up his gloves.

    interesting, interesting!

should I give him a bell and see what we can do?

I find it hard to believe that he cant find fights. If he was in shape he could have taken on Sweeney for the Irish title in Limerick.

Gettin fights is a two way thing - you have to be in shape, ready to travel and not be looking for too mch dineros to start with - especially if you have been inactive for 2 years.

I handn't seen John in a while and I only ran into him a couple of days after the Limerick card. I asked him was Peters or Rohan on to him about taking Timsies place and he said no. In fairness Tolan was never going to win against Sweeney.

From what I can gather he is training every day and looks fit to me. He is no bigger than when he fought on the Hyland Card two years ago so he would have been ready.

I know John and he is a really nice guy, He was on a bit of a run when training with Packie Collins 4fights in ten months then nothing i heard Peters wouldnt deal with him again after he pulled out of a fight against Michael Monaghan the day of the weigh in but would like to see him have another go still young enough he has great potential saw him spar in Collins old gym in coolmine and looked fantastic but when he fights he doesnt deliver i believe its just a confidence problem which he can overcome with some help after that he can do well hope to see him back soon.

not really a smart move to fall out with the only show in town.

He is the only show on TV but he is not the only show in Town although he likes to think he is

at this moment in time he is the only show in town mate.

Team Alio have a couple of hotel shows, DolPhil struggle to fill small hall, the Hylands look like they are getting into bed with Peters, Maloney has bought Lindsay and might have the odd show in Belfast and Hyde has his hands full with Rigo.

As far as I am concerned he is the only show in town.

Patrick thomas has a show on 26th of June in Cork and he will run down there every 3 months John Obrien is a good ticket seller so im sure if he was to fight he wouldnt have a problem getting on one of these shows also i know he did a few of his own shows before he has good connections so i dont think he will loose any sleep over Brian Peters

chill out man. You were trying to make a point that BPP wasnt the only show in town and pointed out an upcoming show in Cork as an example and that actually turned out to be a BPP show.

It was a joke hombre - if you cant take one you are in the wrong place.

    Am I Brian Peters? No.

No I can take a joke ? fair enough from some of your articles i enjoy you have a knowledge of Boxing but when it came to Brian Peters i thought hang on a minute maybe this is the guy.
I have spent the last 16 years in the USA have worked with Arum ,King Diballa and goosens so i dont really know much about Peters but i am sorry if he doesnt impress me and it is a real shame if he is the only show in town everybody needs competition .

    Enjoy the weekend

I wasnt trying to be a smartarse mate (hence the smiley at the end of the original comment) nor have I commented on how good, bad or indifferent BPP shows are - all I was saying is that, in terms of professional boxing here, BPP is the only show in town. He is the only one that regularly produces successful boxing events, the only one that has a contract with a TV station and has pretty much all the top Irish boxers on his books. Thems the facts.
