Going to look at cars in both these garages in the morning - anyone have any experiences with either, positive or negative?

No experience with the first one, but I would take anything the dealer says in North Road with a pinch of salt. Make sure all warranty is in writing and get any prospective car looked over by a mechanic before purchase. Not a direct negative experience so Im not going to say anything libellous. Just be careful i guess :P

I know someone who bought a car from motorvation. The log book couldnt be found when the deal was done. Alot of bull**** talked & the log book never did trn up. The buyer had to go to alot of effort to have the registration transfered to her without any help from garage. They wouldnt take calls about the log book at all. Now it was foolish to buy without seeing the book in the flesh but people trust garages & believe they have comeback. The car was ok though last I heard. I would avoid though.

I bought a car from Motorvation about 10 years ago (or shortly after they opened, can't remember exactly when), was quite happy overall but I received a speeding ticket for the car I had traded in to them a few weeks later. When I rang them (Motorvation) about it, they told me to send it to them and they would pay it, which I wasn't happy about since the car should have been transferred to them and I didn't want it on my record (this was pre-penalty points days but that wasn't the point). I sent the ticket back to the Gardai with a letter explaining the situation, never heard anything back after that. Looked at another car there last year, salesperson was ok, didn't purchase.

Do a search on here, several threads will come up about people buying cars there but only getting one key and having trouble getting the spare.

Bought a car two years ago from motorvation. Very happy. Julian was who I dealt with and afaik he's still there today. Very nice chap to deal with.

I like motivation, guys are pretty sound and they always have good stock with the extras, nice to walk into a garage and most of the cars have leather!

It is completely wrong to defame a dealer unless you have had "direct negative experience"
My own personal experience is that North Road Motors is one of the best value around and like any Dealer you buy from and are offered a warranty , get it in writing of course.
