    Howdy,

    With the third and hopefully final driving test (fingers crossed) approaching in about 4 weeks. I require clarification on a few things:

    1. How many blue marks counts as a fail, is it 8 or 9
    2. When going over speed bumps, what would be correct gear to use?
    3. With regard to parking whats the best way to approach it; come to a complete halt and then turn in or go slow and arch in.

    Any help or advice on this would be most helpful!

    I'm no expert but I'll try to answer..

    1. How many blue marks counts as a fail, is it 8 or 9
    According to the test sheet failure of the test arises where you incur any of the following:
    1 or more grade 3 faults;
    4 of the same grade 2 faults for a single aspect;
    6 or more grade 2 faults under the same heading; or a total of
    9 or more grade 2 faults overall.

    2. When going over speed bumps, what would be correct gear to use?
    I was told by my instructor it's second for big/steep bumps and third for the more gradual ones. If you do pretests you should find out where all the bumps are and be prepared

    3. With regard to parking whats the best way to approach it; come to a complete halt and then turn in or go slow and arch in.
    I think this depends on you? I stop, turn the wheel and use clutch control only if I'm trying to get into a space where the are cars parked with side. I learned this with my instructor. If the car park is empty I just keep moving and turn in slowly since even if I make a mistake all I have to do is straighten the car- I'm not going to hit anyone.
