    Hi there

I just got a mvision HD200 for out in my summerhouse.

I have a SKY HD subscription in my house.

Does anyone know if its possible to put my SKY card from my house box out into my mvision HD200 and receive some of the channels

    Many thanks

    Stu

I'm not familiar with this box, if its a Linux based Satellite receiver you may be able to so. The methods to do so are illegal ( I think ) and break the T&C you agreed with Sky when you signed up to them. Also we are not discuss any further because it falls under "cardsharing" which is a banned subject.

Its not a linux box and he is not asking about cardsharing. There is an unofficial version of the fw that will do what you want - it will decrypt a valid subscription card. It is an open question as to whether this breaks T+Cs in this scenario but it is far from cardsharing.

I did say I wasn't familiar with the box :) All I was trying to say was that if it was a Linux based receiver the methods used to get a sky card running fall under cardsharing so can't be discussed, maybe I should have phrased that a little clearer.

As for the Sky T&C it was something I asked about on other forums while living/working in the UK a few years back, I was pointed to the Sky T&C here - http://www.sky.com/shop/terms-conditions/tv/

Under definitions it describes the BOX (sky box) as "an authorised digital satellite decoder capable of using Sky's digital conditional access (encryption) system" which I assume means it must have the sky logo on it.

So for example when in the T&C it states "The Box used to receive your first Sky digital subscription must always be connected to a fixed and operational telephone line while any Multiroom subscription is in place" they are actually stating "The authorised digital receiver used to receive your first Sky digital subscription must always be connected to a fixed and operational telephone line while any Multiroom subscription is in place"

If your using an unofficial receiver not authorised for use by sky I'd assume you'd be breaking the Sky T&C.

You can only use your Sky Viewing Card with the Sky digibox it is paired with. Anything else is breaking Sky's T&Cs.

    Thread closed.
