That Voice-over Man....

I think I'm losing my mind....

Nearly every ad I hear seems to be by the same man.

That weird nasally, laid-back, talking-through-my-nose, and I-think-I'm-high sound....

So far I've heard it in the Centra adverts, especially over the shop's PA system.

On meteor, when you dial 1741, he directs you to their new number.

On the radio, advertising 8202020 cabs.

On the Hellman's advert, where the kid and father jump into the car after a game of football and eat a sandwich.

And most recently on the new Seat car advert.

Am I going mental, or is this indeed the same man.

If so, why is he everywhere? Is there a market for this type of accent.....

Also, his voice bears a striking resemblance to that lad out of Fair City (the one who's bonin' the aulwan).

That'sh the goy in Fair ****y, yeah.. he did the 'UCD Horizhonsh' ad and the 'Budweisher- Ansher the Call' ads too.

Bloody annoying voice- but not as annoying as the D4 prick in the new Niquitin ads.

There was a guy on that show Bachelors Walk woh seems to do voice overs for a lot of radio ads. Not sure if he's the guy the OP's talking about though.

Thats Don Witcherley. He has a pretty annoying voice alright. Especially since he seems to trys to impersonate a 80 yr old chain smoker on every ad.

Eh no, can't say I know or remember hearing any of those ads to be honest.

Time for them to change advertising strategies me thinks :D

For the record (in regards to RTE anyway), companies are not allowed approach the TV/Radio station direct to ask for adverts, etc to be aired.
They must go through an agency.
I suspect that the small number of available agencies that provide this service are all using the same person then a lot of the time.
