Do you reckon? What I take from the ads is that the respective clients think a large chunk of their potential buyers are idiots. Sorry.;)

I love cars. That's a pair of ads aimed squarely at people who couldn't give a toss about cars but care very much about image. Anti-enthusiasts, if you like.

In fairness, if it attracts buyers, then it works very well. I think it's pretty slick actually. But then I drive a BMW and an Audi :(

It's been around a while. Funny but I guess it's a grown-up version of "Blur or Oasis?"

Billboard ads, targeted TV Adverts from both sides etc. You would think in the US, Audi and BMW only compete with each other. Maybe thats true?

Not all of it and you get what you pay for, the German brands, even VW, are premium imports. US Domestic stuff (even the good stuff) is a lot cheaper.

True, Rented a Chevrolet Impala when i was in the states. When you went around a bend at speed you'd swear it was 20ft off the ground the way it rolled. Awful awful car.

    Envious much?

Seriously those who judge people on the types of car they drive need to grow up a little.

    Envious?

    hahahahaha

There are very few cars with a price tag of less than 150k that I'd like to drive, and those are few and far between ;)

Name them and quantify the statement with what you are driving now and what your past driving experience/car ownership is? As that is one of the most stupid statements i've read in long time (thats saying something on Boards) any car enthusiast or petrol head could make a list as long as your garden of sub 150k cars he'she would like to drive.
