how easy is it to turn off the immobilizer in my 02 clio. the reason is i need a new key for my car and its gonna cost me 200 euro but talkin to a guy today he says he can put a new immobilizer in the car and give me 2 new keys for my car for 150 euro. That would be better for me if i can turn off the immobilzer.

now here's the thing i rang renault and they said it cant be done on my 02 clio as it was a "new feature" at the time. are they givin me this story in the hope i'll give them the business and the 200 euro for a new key?

the car doesnt start sometimes as the key is old

When you say it doesn’t start do you mean it doesn’t turn in the ignition sometimes?
This would indicate a worn or damaged blade

If so this would mean you only require a new key blade?
Or key blade with a new body,, then you transfer the inners from your damaged or worn key

    See link

This Might not be the right key model but you get the idea

Seller in this link has nothing to do with me

It Seems like it’s a very common problem with the Cleo 1 and 2…

I doesn’t sound like it’s the key it sounds like it’s the immobiliser itself

    That link might help you
