    Hi All,

I flew 3 weeks ago with Aer Lingus from Dublin to Glasgow and selected my seat.

Im flying next week on the same plane, same route and same times but the airline want me to pay for the seats.

Did something happen recently for this to be the case of what?

Advance seat selection has been charged for quite a while now.

It's free if you're on one of the more expensive Flexi-fares, however.

I didn't book the Flexi Fare the last time and Im looking at the booking right here now. Identical ticket type, differently priced.

yes changed ages now...but as far as I remember when you go to check in online you can choose your seat for free at that stage :)

Maybe thats it because I checked in online and selected my seat and now I found that I could select it early but it wanted money.

    Thanks, thats cured that problem.

Now I just need to remember that on Regional airlines you WANT to be sitting at the back and NOT the front. Embark and disembark from the back doors.

I think once you get to the online checkin time its free to pick the seat at that stage..... We went to Spain last week, didnt pay for advance seat selection but when I was checking in online I could pick my seat.

At OLCI-you pay for the first 6 rows and the exit rows-the rest are free.

BA also charge you for seating prior to OLCI by the way ,if you don't have siver status or higher with them.
I don't think you could call BA a regional airline;)
