Calling All Students of OT, SLT, Psychology, Art & Music Therapy, CORK

I am the mother of a three-year-old little boy with autism and I am currently trying to set up a Social Skills Saturday Club in Cork and possibly a Summer Camp during the month of August.

I have a venue organised and I have a number of interested parents with kids with ASD. What I am trying to do is have an hour on a Saturday morning with a student of OT, SLT or pscyhology with and interest in the area of ASD / Speical needs who would be willing to work with these kids for one hour, teaching them social skills, turn taking, sharing etc. The benefit to the student is unfortunately not monetary but could give invaluable experience towards course work and I would be willing to give a reference to this effect. We will provide refreshments and any equipment needed.

I am also looking at having music and / or art therapy either during or after the social skills class depending on how many kids we get. So any students of these would be welcomed with open arms should they be willing to give an hour of their free time.

I hope I am posting this on the right board. And I look foward to any feedback and from anyone who is interested in doing this.

    Thanks in advance!
    Dee
