New Boyzone album 'put on hold'

Comments

Plans for a new Boyzone album at the end of the year have been shelved so that Ronan has time to concentrate on his private life.

Should be easy to concentrate on it now there is no pesky family to annoy him.

Look at the upside: Ronan will be re-instating his solo career, possibly with a new more 'gritty' edge to it now that his cleancut image is tarnished.

I don't like the sound of those 2 words in the same sentence 'Ronan & gritty'

The hold-up must be something to do with a problem they're having with copying and pasting the lyrics.

Am I being cynical in thinking that Ronan cheating on his missus would have a hugely adverse affect on sales and that is the reason why the album is on hold?

I believe it was a typo..what he meant to say was "shiity".

Yes, but they can offset by talking some more about Steven.

or the maybe what they are recording is sounding like complete poo. Even more so than usual.

Well Stephen and Ronan were the only ones that could sing, so now that Steo is gone how can Ronan think he can carry the other 3? It's ridiculous to think they are still a band. Ronan should just go back to his solo career

What solo career? Do you think for a second he would have "reformed" with them clowns if he had a solo career?

He might not be big in Ireland but the English love him and he's very popular in Australia hence the fact he's going to be a judge on a show over there

Yeah, but do you think that he kind of killed his own solo career a few years back because of all the over exposure? I mean, this eejit goes to the opening of an envelope for a photo opportunity or to get on telly... (please correct me if i'm wrong but he just seems to be everywhere - hence the reason i'm calling him an eejit, i'm bloody sick of him!).... I thought the majority of people went off him (and for the crimes against music :D) and that's why he couldn't fill places like the Point anymore on his own, and the main people that hung on would have been the die hard Boyzone/Ronan fans. (Although he will always say that it's because people think "he broke up Boyzone" that he cant fill the bigger venues... whatever!). It wasn't a massive tour that he did this year... or a complete sell out either, but he shifted most of his tickets i suppose. Well i think he might have p*ssed off some of his fans now.

There was a conversation in an old thread about Boyzone being on their arse before Stephen died. I wonder is that really going to be the case now. I feel sorry for the other 3. Now with their new album put on hold, the auto tune button in the studio will be gathering dust.

Again, what solo career? Why do you believe that Boyzone reformed, was it because Ronan missed the boys and was sick of his "so successful" solo career? The truth be known, the lads probably don't even like each other, but they are not dumb, they know full well that "working together" as a team is a damn sight better than
trying to make it on their own. Look at the mock sympathy and ridiculous exposure they peddled following
Gately's death. And all the mugs bought into this. I didn't.

i totally agree with what you're saying, I can't stand Ronan myself I'm just saying he still has alot of fans and he's popular down under. As for reforming with Boyzone they must have thought look at how well Take That are doing and raking in the money we could do the same, but we all know nothing could be further from the truth they havn't a patch on TT for a start they can all sing.Boyzone are finished and it looks better to quit now and blame Steos death than admit it was a big mistake

One or two might, but the rest of the population think he's a talentless tit.

Isn't it funny how whenever a conversation on Boyzone is brought up it always turns into the "Ronan Keating is a prick, cant sing, hate him..." conversation!!

Well it's true to say that most of the Boyzone era always revolved around him, the split, the reunion, even Steo's death and aftermath, but he calculated it to be that way. So everybody is right, f*ck him. They should have sacked him from the band, they wont do well with him or without him anymore.

well if that's the case they should play the instuments on stage it would add something different to the act, other singers often take to the piano aswell as singing

No chance of it being put on ''permanent'' hold, I suppose?

Ronan does play the guitar on stage during all his solo tours, he also played guitar during his solo spot on the BZ tour.

Mikey played the piano on the last BZ tour during "Words" and he played the guitar during "Father and Son".

Keith also did a long drum solo at the start of "A Different Beat"

Reminds me of the old joke:

Q: What's another name for Boyzone

A: Ronan Keating and the 'four overheads*'

    * make that 3 now

I don't care about your opinions on the band.. making jokes about dead people is just poor taste, plain and simple.

I never expressed my opinion. Me thinks someone has had a 'sense of humour bypass'. As they say, different strokes for different folks.

Sounds like an opinion to me

Either way, this is a public forum, some people take offence easily..

There is a forum specifically for this brand of humour on this site and THIS is not it!

    Comprendez?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,311 ✭✭✭youtheman

    It's not an opinion.

Suggest if someone takes offence they sit in a dark room for a while until the feeling wears off.

    Comprendez to you.
