Hi im thinking on getting airport express to run air tunes on.

I was wondering if any one who has it could answer a quick question, Can i listen to one song on my mac mini and a different song in the kitchen with airtunes??

and on the apple.ie site it says in the box contains
    What's in the Box

    • AirPort Express
    • CD with AirPort Utility (Mac and Windows), 802.11n Enabler (for Intel Core 2 Duo and Xeon-based Macintosh computers except 17-inch 1.83GHz iMac and Mac mini), Bonjour for Windows
    • Printed and electronic documentation
When this says except mac mini, does this mean i cant configure it with a mac mini or that it wont work with one??

    Thanks for any help

With iTunes, I don't think so. It's a long time since I used AirTunes, though. Afaik iTunes will only play one song at a time. To do this you'd probably have to use a separate media player on the Mini.

No, it is only referring to the 802.11n wifi enabler. Older Macs came with newer 802.11n wifi cards but the n was disabled by default. This isn't the case with newer Macs. But even if you had an old Mini that was only 802.11g it would still work fine with AirTunes.

So for exaple if i used plex to play music it should work with 2 different songs in 2 different rooms.

I have the most reacent mac mini with the 802.11n wireless.

It will work with all Apple computers/devices that contain 802.11b/g/n wireless cards.

Older model computers needed to have the newer 802.11n functionality unlocked using this enabler.

You don't need to worry about it.

No would need 2 machines playing the two different songs to 2 different airport expresses to do that
