South America to Havana

    Hi all,

I would like to fly to Havana, Cuba from somewhere in south america in the next couple of weeks (possibly Lima, Ecquador or Colombia). I have been checking some flights but they are very expensive... I was wondering if any of you know any cheap airlines? If not, do you know any websites that you type in your source and destination and it searches different (budget) airlines?

    Thanks,
    Walrus

In 2008, around this time of year, the cheapest flights I could find were from Ecudor with Taca. I flew from Guaquil to Havana via San Jose in Costa Rica and retuned to Quito (again via san jose). I think the flight cost $300us return. The euro was very strong at the time so it was great value.

I found edreams.com to be a good flight booking engine for flights in Latin America. And TACA were a great airline with decent food (for a plane!)

I had always head that flying from Vevezuela was the cheapest way but I couldn't find any flights to cuba from there at the time (i think the national carrier aeropostale was in financial trouble)

    Hope this helps.
