What percentage of trades are done via automated black boxes? Are New York, London, Tokyo and Frankfurt really just run largely by computers today? What happens in the event of a full-house sell-off? How the hell is the small guy supposed to protect himself, when by the time it gets onto the news feeds, it's too late?…

Thinking of going entirely into cash (mixture of currencies) for a couple of months. I don't have the luxury being able to press a nuke button.
