    Hello!
I have tried to find some place to play badminton in Cork, i called to few places that i found from internet, but most of those numbers were out of service (!?!)... One answered but asked to call back in september cos they have gone to "summer vacation".

Where should one turn for beginners badminton in Cork? I would really love to try hand in it...
Is any of the board members playing badminton in Cork?

    Hi Kart,

Where in Cork are you? is it in the city? Most clubs don't play during the summer. The badminton season in Ireland traditionally runs from September to April / May.

From the cork county website (http://cork.irishbadminton.com/message-to-clubs) I see that Garryduff club are running summer badminton which seems to be open to all. They're based in Garryduff Sports Centre in Rochestown.

I think (but not certain) that Melbourne-Bishopstown club also play throughout the summer. They are based in Bishopstown GAA hall.

I'll be moving to Cork in a couple of weeks and am checking what's available in terms of sports clubs, halls, etc. especially interested in badminton (ladies/mixed) although I'm no expert :) I found some websites of clubs in Cork but not sure how up to date the info is...
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for your reply!
Not sure yet actually, will be staying at company's apartment until I make my own accommodation arrangements. I'll need to see which parts of town I prefer and then choose, any suggestions?
