Could i please get some advice on tungsten carbite wedding bands, getting married in several months, i have read that they are scratch proof and fairly solid, what i would like to know are they worth purchasing? What jewellers ell them and on average how much? Any tips would be hugely appreciated. Thanking you

the only concern i would have is that i imagine it would be very hard to resize the rings as you - to put it diplomaticly - change shape throughout the rest of your life.

me and the misses have Titanium annd gold rings - they don't scratch, and they'll never pinch your finger if you get them cought in a door - on the other hand they can't be resized if we start putting on the timber...

My husband got a tungsten band. I think it's gorgeous. Doesn't scratch and was such good value for such a substantial chunky piece.

He DID buy it too big though (against my advice) and the day after we got married it slipped off in the swimming pool! He found it and wears it on the ring finger of his right hand now as it fits that perfectly. If he does put on a lot of weight he can switch back to the left.

Do people generally have to have their rings resized at some stage in the future? I have a diamond wedding band and I don't think I'll be able to have it resized. I'm pregnant at the moment though so I think I'll get to the stage where i won't be able to wear my rings and I was thinking of getting a tungsten band as a replacement for a while. Now, we bought my hubbie's ring in the States at a sale at Zales Jewellers and it was only $90 so if you could get them at those kind of prices you could always get another one if the size doesnt work in the future?

I have a Tungsten ring that has platnium in it as well, it's a tapered ring, I'd want to put on a lot of weight for it not to fit, I've done the Irish husband thing and put on about 2 stone since I got married and it still fits perfectly
