They currently lead Bristol by 11 points on aggregate with 15 minutes left in the game. What would another year in the championship mean for Bristol financially?

edit: make that 14 points with just over 10 minutes to go

    What was the final score?

John Hayes' brother Tommy is Exeter's captain.

Bristol were hot favourites to get promoted.

    :D

    Fair play Exeter.

What a blow to Bristol though, I bet all their future plans were based on promotion this year.

At least it's a change from Bristol and Leeds swopping places every season.

Steenson at OH played up to U20 with Ireland also. Would be nice to see him get a run in GP as haven't seen him since then. Think he's an Ulster lad as far as I can remember.

Paul McKenzie(ex Ulster) and David Gannon (ex Connacht & Ireland U.21 Captain) are with the Exeter Chiefs also.

Gareth Steenson is a product of Dungannon RFC and played for them after leaving school before moving across the water and playing first for Cornish Pirates and then Exeter. Almost sure he played in Ireland U20 side that reached age group World Cup final vs NZ a few seasons back. Ulster should be looking closely at him. His goal kicking last night was top drawer. Paul McKenzie played for Belfast Harlequins and Ulster but was unable to nail down a regular place in the latter partly due to succession of unlucky injuries. Great to see so many Irish faces in Exeter side - check their player profiles on website for more than mentioned here. See - http://www.exeterchiefs.co.uk/site/4/Players___Staff.html Might just take out a Sky sports subscription for next season!

Just looking at some of the results in League One this season, some seriously high scores there. Poor Manchester.
