    Hi Folks,

I left Sky about a year ago and went the freesat/Irish DTT combo route. I have received a number of return to Sky Offers in the last year. I got one about 3 month back which was half price subs for 6 months (excluding HD). Another offer arrived today this time it's a 12 months half price offer on all non-hd subs including sports and movie packs. The basic pack would now be 11 euro per month for 12 months, I would like to see this as a permanent price if not lower to be honest.

I wonder what the next offer will be, half price hd ?:) No plans to return to them at the moment

I've heard of Sky offering 6 months at half price (€11 per month)
12 months half price would be worth considering - even for good quality reception of Irish channels & 3e.

Was there a code you had to quote?

No codes that I could see. I'd imagine the offer has been targeted to certain ex-account.

Yeah, got that offer through the post myself two days ago for an old account.
I am moving within next month so it is tempting.

sky sent me a letter with half price for 12 months, I can't get RTE reception where I live but I still prefer to live off freesat and the RTE website

got that 12 Months half price offer as well. Happy with my FTV/DTT (tests) combo at the moment . Besides the cost of SKY what got me eventually was the ads ads ads, just found myself channel hopping all evening avoiding those ads ads ads.......

Moved to UPC due to savings on overall package of phone BB and TV - neither as good as Sky/Eircom/Meteor Dongle but at half the cost I will tolerate it.

When phoned sky to cancel (prior to any committment with UPC) nothing - just take details and cancel. 1 week after UPC installed, a call - would I like half price Sky TV for 6 months to come back - informed them I am now with UPC and have a 12 month contract - sky's response, are you sure you don't want to come back - which part of 12 month contract can they not understand???

Not get offers at least monthly including the latest one which is 1/2 price for 12 months.

if they are going to chase old customers with such offers why not just make them sooner - bad marketing by Sky and they are seriously overpriced!

For the time being we can enjoy the World Cup HD and maybe RTE DTT HD will get their act together in time for next year with the Magners League and Rugby World Cup and why not push the boat out and give us an Irish Movies HD station...oh to dream....
