I wonder is it Geoff Willis starting to make changes. Must be a hard time for them, seem to be slowest of the new pack, but Chandhok and Senna haven't been too bad considering the situation

Why none of the new teams bought this years Toyota is still beyond me.

Would it be any use? Thought the bigger fuel tank meant the cars had to be completely redesigned?

Did Stefan GP not buy it?

Aye, though I think Gintonious was referring to the non-"vultures".

Well by the time the non vultures realised they wanted/needed it Stefan had it

USF1 tried to get it off Stefan but i guess they were holding out to see if the could get the slot or just didnt need the money.

Fair enough, didn't realise that. :)

As far as i know it was based on this years regulations so it was fully ready to go,Ferrari snapped up the aero guys when Toyota left as far as i know.

Looked like a decent effort, couldnt see it being any worse then the 3 new teams now anyway.

Martin brundle mentioned on his last grid walk that hispanic racing were hoping to buy in some intellectual property in an effort to get them up to a reasonable performance level. I dont know who you would get this knowledge from? Is it a matter of employing people in the know from other teams?

Actually i think i read somewhere that one of the F1 magazines had bought the Toyota intellectual property and were going to publish it.

Don't know if they bought it or what, but Racecar Engineering feature it this month... http://www.racecar-engineering.com/magazine/2733/rce-v20n7.html

Where would I get a hold of that magazine? In non-digital format?

Would have been a good idea for Hispania to have just bought the rights to the Toyota design rather than pay Dallara any money at all. When was the last time Dallara designed an F1 chassis? Couldn't have been all that recently could it?

Im not sure if they can completely blame Dallara. Dallara didn't know if they would be payed and stopped working on the car a couple of times with all the goings on with Campos finance. Then they were struggling with time anyway.

Its still not clear if HRT have the money to complete this season, they have already been to Bernie with the poor box looking for help. I would say Dallara are glad to be away from them.

That being said the design from Dallara was very basic in my totally expert opinion. :D

Why didn't they by the Toyota? I'm not exactly sure of the timing but the Toyota wasn't available when they started and probably couldn't afford it when it was available.

Would another issue be that they did not have the means to manufacture their cars? I know that at the start of the season Dallara fabricated everything for the team and Hispania had no capability to manufacture their parts. So I'd say that even if Stefan GP hadn't the rights to the Toyota intelectual property that Hispania would have not been able to use it.

Interestingly in relation to Toyota ART are apparently in talks to purchase the rights to the car and use the Cologne base for their F1 entry next year-if they are successful with their application
