I paid 350euro last Tuesday to get my teeth whitened. It was the in office one hour treatment. Afterwards my teeth were lovely but after a few hours I feel like the whiteness faded. I really looked after them no tea until Saturday and even then only one cup a day. But at this stage only a week later I feel like my teeth are pretty much back to where they were. I've also got white spots on a few of my teeth like calcium spots that I didnt have before so if anything my teeth are worse now. I'm really not thetype of person to make complaints I've never complained before in my life but i've made an appointment with the dentist tomorrow. the only thing is you sign a disclaimer before the procedure saying you accept everyone's results vary blah blah blah, so I probably have no comeback. I just feel for 350euro i should have a noticeable improvement. I'm nervous about tomorr as I said I never complain, what do you guys think?

They'd want you to be happy with the results. If you're a bit uncomfortable in approaching the matter, you don't have to say you're complaining per se, just that you're disappointed. Best of luck.

Was this done by a dentist in his/her own dental clinic or was it done in a whitening clinic/spa by someone they pay to come in and do it?

It was done in a well known chain of dentists that are known for teeth whitening. Apparently it normally costs 450 euro but u=if you have avivas health insurance its 350 euro!!

No Names please....a lot of the in office whitening is dehydration directly after the procedure. I am not a massive fan of the office whitening without combining it with at home night guard bleaching this is more expensive though.

Everyones teeth will whiten at different rates and by different amounts. Go discuss it with them and see will the give you some at home bleach to enhance the result.

I stopped using the zoom whitening a couple of years ago for this exact reason, the results were unpredictable and I ended up having to provide the patients with trays for home bleaching later. Mosts dentists will not want dissatisfied patients so it's no harm to go back and say that you thought they would be whiter/last longer.

unfortunately some people's respond better to bleaching than others. As the other posters have said the at home/overnight stuff works better as it is in for longer. Go back to the dentist and discuss the at home option, I am sure that they will be happy to discuss alternatives

Just had a rep in selling a office bleaching system and left the kit till the weekend....some lucky patient is getting free bleaching tomorrow...looks like a nice system but I still dont think in office only does the job right...

Can you believe it, the patient I had booked in for a consult that was unhappy with previous whitening done by another dentist did not bother come in to an hour appointment, no notice, uncontactable on the phone and missed out on free bleaching worth 350 euro...

Last year i went to get my teeth whitened before my gf's sister's wedding in my local dentists.
He sent me to the hygenist first for twenty minutes and then went ahead with the zoom whitening for 45 mins.

Tbh i never noticed a difference and more than likely wouldn't have had if i hadn't them cleaned by the hygenist first.
