    Hi all

I am looking for a hotel with a large conference room (for a physical activity - flat floor and no seating required) about a floor size of 900 sq m. Alternatively we would be looking for a venue like this close to a decent hotel (within walking distance).

The area is unimportant within DUblin. People will be flying into Dublin airport but transport can be arranged if necessary.

    Thanks in advance!

is this a tae kwon do event? In which case will carpeting and a lack of changing areas be a problem?

What about Jury's and across the road at croke park?? I love Jury's and often stay there.

Else I think citywest have a big function room although haven't been there for years.

Finally (again havn't been there in a while) the Grand in Malahide has a big function room.

the function room in the regency airport hotel might be suitable.

Citywest has a large conference centre in the grounds of the hotel - a few hundred yards from the hotel door basically.

It is a Taekwon-Do event alright but we will be bringing mats for the floor so carpet wouldn't be the worst thing (once we'll be allowed lay the mats on top!) Changing facilities aren't a major problem either if it's a hotel because all the people attending would be staying in the hotel.

The Academy Plaza Hotel just off the top of O'Connell Street has 285 fabulous rooms so plenty of choice for the guys. Their largest conference room fits up to 140 people but they are connected with two venues close by that could perhaps fit the tournament. Check out www.academyplazahotel.ie for more information. The aircoach stop is also seconds away so very handy for transport to and from the airport! :)

    +1 for City West Hotel.

Have used it many times for large functions - their big fuction room in the hotel is made up of three 20m x 34m rooms that can open into one big 60m x 34m room if needed - linky. Then there is their massive new conference centre that just opened. I haven't used it for an event yet but got the guided tour and it's very impressive.

They also have a gazillion hotel rooms on-site and have done great deals for us in the past. Couple that with the huge (free) car parking facilities and you're onto a winner! :)
