Waiting Times for welfare

    Has anyone recently that has been made redundant know of the waiting time to get Jobseerers Benefit or Allowance?

    Also how does redundacy affect payment of Jobseekers allowance and its means test?

    I dont know about Redundancy payments affecting it but I applied on a Monday, came back on the Tuesday for the appointment and the JSB is a week in arrears so I got it the Friday following that week.

    It seems to differ from area to area (from what I've heard) I went for my interview for JSB last Monday, only been 10 days but I was nieve and thought I'd have my letter now!

    Now I'm being relistic and planning for 6 weeks or longer just in case! At least it's backdated. JSA seems to take waaaaay longer to receive though, so one silver lining.
