Hey i was at the dentist yesterday to get a tooth pulled however the top part was weak because it had a filling so the tooth had to be drilled and yanked out but the dentist left the whole root behind because of the risk of it being close to the sinus. This aint a couple of bone splinters this is the whole root. Is this something to be worried about?

Versus the alternative of risking inadvertantly moving the root into the sinus(thereby requiring surgery under general anaesthetic to retrieve said root), no. It's often best to quit while you're ahead!
    Possible scenarios:
1-Everything will heal up around the root& it will stay put in the same position it always has been.
2-Everything will heal up around the root& over the months/years it will gradually drift to the surface of your gum(ie: drift away from this sinus, making it safer to extract, under local anesthetic).
3-It will cause pain& require referral to an oral surgeon for a specialist approach to the extraction
    See how you go.
