Question about redundancy....

    Hi,

Two months ago I was told I was going to be made redundant. I would be entitled to state redundancy... 2 or 3 weeks per year or something like that.....

Anyway I was extremely lucky and thankful to get a new job else where.
I have not been told I will not be entitled to any redundancy as I am leaving 2 months before my end date....

I was told I could look for other jobs... Does this seem right?

    Thank you

Basicially if you have found a job before your redundancy date yes as far as I am aware you are not entitled to a redundancy payment.

    Did you resign?

Yes as I was leaving before my end date.
But I am working out my notice period.

I contacted employmentrights.ie and they said that I should be entitled to it so I don't know.

    Thanks...

If you resigned, you were not made redundant, so no payment.
