Would seem to be a commemorative medal of some kind struck for the centenary of the 1798 rebellion - Wolfe Tone might make more sense than Parnell in that context.

Any chance you could put up some pics?

Hi there Gizmo firstly I gratefully appreciate your quick response,

The information that we have amassed so far is from family only.
The item is a very light circular metal (possibly pewter), dated 1798 -1898. On one side we believe is a side profile engraving of Wolfe Tone encircled with garlands of shamrock and has a small bow directly underneath profile.
On the reverse side there is a shamrock with three different images in the leafs. Top 1- Is the image of a bright shining celestial body above a bunch each of (we think) barley and wheat.

In the right hand leaf the image is of a dog lying on a beach watching a rising sun with what looks like a lighthouse in the foreground.

In the left hand leaf there is an image of a lady sitting on the rocks with a harp and again a lighthouse in the background.
Below the shamrock stem is another harp with a ribbon with the dates stated above on each side (1798 -1898).

In the center of the shamrock there is a small engraving of what can either be another shamrock or possibly a cross depending on which way you look at it.

We would be grateful for any information that you could provide us with and look forward to any correspondence.I Have sent an i
mage of the item showing both sides.....Once again thank you for reply & hope the info i have submitted may help.?ui=2&ik=cebd72b809&view=att&th=128d7ec3bedd1e8d&attid=0.2&disp=inline&zw?ui=2&ik=cebd72b809&view=att&th=128d7ec3bedd1e8d&attid=0.1&disp=inline&zw
