Ok so in one of the final scenes, where Jack goes into the Church and looks at the coffin, there is a stained glass window behind him. If you look at this there 6 different symbols, each for a different religion. Now this seemed very odd to me when i first saw it and got me thinking, this is where people from differnet religions are brought together as one - i.e. I'm sure Sayid had a differnt belifs from Jack, Jack, from Sun/Jin, etc.

So I decided to check these out. So here's a video of that scene (just pause it at 0.01 to get a clear pic of it)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8WPSiGBCAA

These symbols are from the following religions: Islam, Hinduism, Christinity, Judaism & Taoism.

    Got them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_symbolism

Now what caught my eye the most when first seeing it, was the Wheel in the bottom left hand corner of the window. I immediatel thought of the Frozen Donkey Wheel. And what's even better, when i checked out this symbol, it turns out it is from Buddhism......but is called...."The Wheel of DHARMA". How cool is that.

But did anyone think, when first seeing this that it was odd having all them symbols together and thought "Hey this is heaven"???

That's brilliant! Yeah when I saw the window I did see the symbols and thought it was weird but I think I just thought maybe it had something to do with US churches??! In my defense I was until so much mental anguish my brain couldnt process it so I just forgot about it then! Weird ;)

Yep. I noticed it also and also the various icons from different religions scattered around the back room. I assumed when I saw it at the time that it was some kind of generic funeral venue for all different religions and they had all the icons to display depending on the religion of the person being buried.

I thought it was something to do with the fact that all the religions depicted share the common belief that Humans have a Soul/Spirt which lives on when you die.

ha, good spot on the Wheel. One of the things I love so much about lost. All these small little things they throw into episodes just for those viewers who go to the trouble of spotting them.

yeah, noticed it the second time around. i think that it means purgatory isn't specific to any one religion, instead it is there for anyone/everyone to move on in their own way.

cool thing about the wheel of dharma :)
