    Any ideas anyone?

Cant seem to get a quote on a 350z, my current insurer wont even quote me on an Audi TT!

Any advice appreciated. I won't be buying one of these cars unless I can get insurance under a grand....

    I'm 28, 6 years NCB...pretty surprised TBH

It's all about the proposer rather than the ins co in my experience. Shop around, ring everyone.

Well if anyone here has experience trying to get insurance on fast cars can they please let me know who they found best?

    Thanks

I ahve been with Axa for many a year now, and they have insured me on a lot of high end stuff in the past no problems.
Granted it was short term, a few weeks or month at a time.. but never and issue..

Insurance under a grand might be tough. You could always go with xsdirect and keep a high excess, otherwise check 123.ie.

OFF TOPIC: p.s. robtri - I've never seen such a weird collection of links to have in your signature...

It changes for me almost every year. This year it's Hibernian.

    +1 for First Ireland - I'm 24, 5 years NCB, 4 penalty points, insured on a JDM RX-8 for €1550 with them.

Axa or Hibernian quoted me a month ago, 26, 5 years NCB, I can check which it was when I get home this evening.

It wasn't anywhere near under a grand though!

Is there something you're not telling us?! Not being smart but I was barely 27 and insured on an M3 for just under 1K and similar NCB etc... I even had 4 points!!

Yeah I did, they wouldn't quote me at all..with our without the named driver, getting really frustrated now..my current insurer told me ''your too young for the 350z'' I'm 28 ffs! with a 6 year NCB, bloody annoying.

How do you find the 350z anyway? If I di change cars, may have to settle for a TT..or I may just wait a year or 2...

I got insurance on my Type R Integra with Setanta Insurance thru a broker in Clane. €900 as well which was roughy two and half times cheaper than the next quote I got.

ARB gave me a quote, albeit a very expensive one. Britton also came back to me but several weeks later which suggests that they werent too bothered about my custom.

Dont bother with the big insurance companies; they hear Japanese and they crawl into their pathetic little shells. I must have rang every insurance company in Ireland when I got my car and most wouldnt even quote me.

    Hi,

I recently got a 350Z a few months ago and did get quotes for under a grand from both Britton Insurance (~960) and Xsdirect (~980). But due to the ridiculous excess (4000) didn't bother. I had change to the 350Z prior to my insurance being up and it ended up costing 74 euro for the 3 weeks that was left. Got a renewal quote for 2000 odd (FBD) and did a bit of shopping around. The best quote I got was from Aviva at 1900 odd. I went for Aviva and to be honest I ended up regretting it as the cover with FBD was actually better. But at the time I was thinking of my pocket rather then the car and myself. I'm 28 with 4 years NCD although it has being a drain on the finances (pot hole tax @1566 annually and petrol at around 80 a week so far) I don't regret it.

    Good luck with the quotes.

When you say they won't quote you do you just mean the websites won't quote you? In that case try ringing, the websites can be very limited.

I got covered on an Rx8 with Quinn direct, there was a bit of confusion over the engine size which held things up but once I told them I'd bought the car they came back with a price quickly enough so that could be worth trying

    +1 On First Ireland

I'm 27 and have had nothing but good dealings with them. (No claims yet, touch wood)

Have an Audi S8 4.2, fully comp, protected no claims, business use for around 1250, and I'm only 27.

Also have a Porsche 944 Turbo on classic insurance for 330 IIRC with them, I had this car as my only car
    with similar cover previously too.

And forget the websites, they are a total waste of time unless you have a 1.3 Corolla
or similarly run of the mill, with a performance car you have to ring round.

I ring about 20 different companies every year, yes it's a pain in the h*le but
it's the only way you get the full picture.

For your ref i'll shortly be taking out a policy with XSdirect on a 350z. €1350 fully comp with €2k excess

I'm 30 and have just recently been forced to claim as my mkv gti was stolen. XS were pretty much the only crowd who would quote.
