Does anyone know of any Lidl that still has some of these left over? I thought it was yesterday, not last week.:o Just bought a new dish, and having trouble aligning it. Or even if there's anyone, in north cork/cork city, that bought one that would be so kind as to let me borrow one for an afternoon?:p

I alligned mine by first of all pointing it in the general direction of my neighbours dishes. I then moved it slowly until it found something. It found Astra 1 first so I had it too far right. Be sure to check the elevation too.

Thanks, might have to do this, where's the best place for cheap compasses?

Can't really try this, nearest neighbours are about a mile away, and don't have dishes.:pac:

Another way of getting a guide of where to point the dish is point it in the direction of the sun at 11am

+1 I wasted over an hour because I hadn't set the elevation right. My dish had an elevation scale on the back - so if you're lucky there will be no guess work. Then it's just a case of trial and error with a signal meter - I used the signal strength meter on the sat receiver.

i found a 'satbeeper' combined with the skyboxes inbuilt meter a simple and cheap option. the satbeeper to find the satellite and then the combination of the beeper and inbuilt skybox meter to fine tune. dont forget to optimise the skew.
    the skyman
