    Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice. I am in the market for a 2nd hand car for around €6K. I currently have a basic 1.2L 02 Punto. What are my options with trade-in's etc. Will any garage accept my old car as a trade-in? I am looking for a 1.4L petrol preferably 5-door. Living in Dublin.
    Any advice appreciated.

Many garages will 'accept' a trade in, just don't expect to get very much for it, maybe €1k or so less than you'd buy the same car for in a straight sale.

I can't imagine many if any garages not accepting your trade-in - in my book, it's the only good reason for buying a €6k car from a garage in the first place. That being said, my preferred path would be to sell the Punto yourself and buy privately. It's cheaper, you get to meet the previous owner, and it's less likely that faults will have been covered up. Just be sure to check (& verify) the service history, do a finance check, and have a mechanic give the car a once-over before you commit.
