I didn't wear glasses for my last two sprints - fogged up immediately I put them on, so I took them off! I did use gloves though.

Dont forget to take your Hat off aswell after the swim :D

Also a race belt with your number over your tri suit, under your wetsuit.(saves you putting it on in T1)
I wouldnt bother with the socks for the cycle and run but thats just me!
Also get them quick tie laces aswell, (every second counts)
also i will see you down there!!

I would use sunscreen / vaseline / lube around my neck under the suit to prevent chafing.

You could also lube your ankles, legs and arms to help with quick suit removal.

Dont put vaseline on your neck if it is sunny as it may enhance sunburn.

Also you could grease ur runners & bike shoes .....

& a digital watch to record ur splits ...

    the list goes on ............

I have just learnt recently dont use vaseline on your wet suit you will cause damage in the long run, bodyglide if you can get it or baby oil will be better for the wet suit

    Agree with the elastic laces

Depending on how long you expect to be out, maybe an energy gel just before you get off the bike

I'm doing my first triathlon on Saturday in Slane, do you have to bring your own swim hat?

most races issue out hats - different colour for each group.

If wearing socks (for sprint distance they shouldn't be required, but don't use the race as the first time to run without socks) turn the sock nearly completely inside out with just the toes the right way, it is easier to pull the sock over a wet foot then push your wet foot into a sock. - probably havent explainde the above very well but hopefully you will know what I mean.

Keep your tansition area a simple as possible and laid out in the order that the gear is required. Keep your helmet and Glasses on the bike, also keep a large bottle of water to hand to wash your feet in case the transition area is stoney, some people keep a basin of water to han to step into and rinse their feet.

Also have few bin liners with you. Can cover your gear if the weather is bad and dump your wet gear into when going home.

    enjoy the day.
