Its on that for a few weeks @ 500 less than going rate but only time wasters

What sort of car is it and what are you asking for it ?
The going rate and what others are asking are not at all the same thing too.

I sold my wifes car a few weeks ago. I started with the free sites and got one viewing from each of www.gumtree.ie and www.cbg.ie, both wanted to buy, the lady who saw the add on gumtree was the first to come up with cash.
I got a bit of interest from Adverts but no viewings. There seems to be guys over there that come in with crazy low bids regardless of how competitively you price it. I'm just not convinced by the Adverts selling model because with cars, I really think the bargaining should begin once the prospective buyer has actually viewed the car and is happy that it meets their needs. This car sold in about 10 days from first being advertised so maybe Adverts would have come good with viewers after another few days.
Failing that, my next port of call was www.donedeal.ie, I'm reluctant to use www.carzone.ie despite some previous success but mainly just masses of nuissance emails from scam artists, in fact I think it's time they take the email buyer option off carzone because I have never had a serious email enquiry and I doubt many others have either, the signal to noise ratio for carzone email enquirys must be shocking.

This one ? Nice car, looks well maintained and what someone would buy however it's not going to shift for anything North of €6000 privately.

Edit, no mention of NCT either and she's English I think, even the pictures are taken in England / Northern Ireland, basically the add screams don't buy me imo.

Nicely stalked - You think its over priced , you could be right as im basing it on other cars online - need one of those little second hand car pricing books for a better idea

New pics, with the car on Irish plates complete with NCT on the windscreen :) As is it looks like you just brought her in and want to make a quick and easy few hundred euro which may or may not be the case :)

I was thinking the same thing. Are the photographs new? Is the car registered in the ROI because the road markings look more like UK road markings and the few other cars visible look to have NI registrations and yours is photoshopped out.
To me that looks like the kind of add a scam artist would create, I wouldn't bother even calling.

Anyway, being more constructive about this, get your car to an open sunny location, today is perfect, take lots of photos from every angle you can, move the car so that the sun is always behind you when you're taking the photo. Pick out the best photos and upload the maximum number for any adds.
If the car was imported, be up front about it and say when and how long you've owned it and highlight any extras that you wouldn't expect to have on an Irish car.
Is it the coal burning 1.6 or the 1.6FSI? Where in Dublin are you located? When can the car be viewed? Why are you selling?
Advertise on all the free websites in addition to donedeal, you have nothing to lose from putting an add up on these.

If you brought the car with you when you moved, emphasise that point to distinguish yourself from the ammature trader trying to make a quick buck by importing used cars.

seems to only have a uk tax disc holder on the screen. If its an irish car, something is not right. These things will put off people who were considering calling you. Looks like a genuine enough car though.

Any motor factors should sell them for about €1.50. 3 compartments for your Tax / Insurance / NCT discs (which all should be shown on your windscreen).

Most insurance companies give them away free along with glass replacement companies too.
