Entitlement To Family Benefits

    Hello
I'm a single mum and I'm entitled to One Parent Family Allowances, Child Benefits and Family Income Supplement.
I would like to know if I could keep my benefits if I rent a bedroom in my flat?
If yes, what will be the calculations to know my new family benefits?
    Thank you for your help.

    from http://www.citizensinformation.ie/categories/housing/owning-a-home/home-owners/rent_a_room_scheme

Effect of rental income on social welfare payments

If you are getting a means-tested social assistance payment from the Department of Social Protection, any rental income you get will be assessed as means and may effect your payment. However, rental income will not be assessed as means, if you are getting a State Pension (Non-Contributory) or Widow's/Widower's (Non-Contributory) Pension and you would be living alone unless you rented out a room in your home.

Thank you for your answer - but I was speaking about subletting because I haven't got my own house.

I would imagine (and I could be wrong) that it doesn't matter if you're renting or sub-letting, they're just words. As long as you're getting the money, then you're getting the money, regardless of what you call it. Therefore, I believe it will affect your payment.
