Yeah, I loved The Wire and BSG as well, but neither of them absorbed me like Lost did. I'm going to really miss it.

+1, though i haven't watched the wire. no other show had me up at 7am to download the finale. just epic. best ending they could have had for it. very stephen king-esque

nice tribute video - thanks for the link :)
the realisation that Lost is over still hasn't sunk in fully yet. no other TV show will compare to Lost.

I don't know why people like endings like this. Things not explained etc, ah well

In terms of quality, the Wire was a far far better show. But Lost still kept my attention throughout the six series which is more than I can say than a few other shows which I lost interest in eventually.

Agreed. "The Wire", to my mind, was superior in nearly every way but that doesn't detract from the fact that "Lost" was one of those other rare shows where I still looked forward to it each week after six years.

I love both the Wire and Lost but I do believe the creators of the Wire had a much easier base on which to write a show. This is probably the nature of the beast when you decide to write a Sci-Fi show based on something so tangible to the audience as a plane crash on a tropical island. If I had to rank them I'd probably say the Wire is a better put together show but when you add in marks for "difficulty" I think Lost would take it.

Definitely gonna miss Lost though :(

Anyone else feeling severe withdrawal symthoms?!
Anyone else scouting around various websites pricing boxsets?!

Anyone else have a sleepless nite last nite!

I know its only a tv programme and as people said there are better programmes such as The Wire out there but Lost just had a way of engaging the viewer and drawing ya in.

Suppose the World Cup is only over the horizon:)
