    hi
im planning on opening up my own garage soon and I was wondering if anybody knows if there is any free or relatively cheap invoicing software available.
Ive downloaded a couple of programmes but they all seem to be trial versions.
I wouldn't mind paying for a package provided it was cheap and a once off payment, as im working on quite a tight budget... thanks

I use freshbooks.com for generating invoices and keeping track of things generally. I find it really good and makes invoicing very easy.

There are paid plans depending on how many clients you have, but I just use the free version and write client details in as the first item on the invoice.

You could set up a fairly easy spreadsheet on Excel and export the details onto an invoice on Word?

There are a few free packages out there I haven't used any of them personally but have heard freshbooks is good. There is also one at www.invoiceexpert.com that you could take a look at

I am connected to Sage and our UK office do have a Free invoicing package. While it is not out here yet I am sure you could download it from the UK site and take a look to see if it suits you? I would imagine the issue with it would probably be the sterling currency for Irish users of the UK version.

You did mention you do not mind paying for something once it does not cost too much you could take a look at Sage Instant accounts. It will allow you to do all of the basics plus create invoices, create statements, profit and loss, balance sheet etc. It will let you email invoices so you might recoup part of the cost against what you would have been paying for postage and it can be bought with or without support
