I bought a set in my last order from wiggle.co.uk (search for lock laces on the site and youll find them). Sounds like the sort of accessory you'd pick up in runways (parnell st. in dublin).

I think you could do a DIY job much cheeper if you went into hickeys or somewhere else that sells various types of elastic and buttons and that sort of thing--two bits of strong tubular elastic and a couple of those button things with springs that you use on the elasticated wastes of jackets and you'd be sorted :D

I heard that these weren't great, as you don't get the same tension as ordinary laces. Anyone know if that's really the case?

I would never look back at using a "normal" laces since i started using lock laces. Once setup, fit will always be the same, and will be very snug.
Using these with right type of shoes & socks, and i have never had a blister. Happy days..

I find blisters is still down to choice of socks, but found these laces a revelation fit is perfect and make a huge difference in tri transitions.

I wouldn't think they give the same overall tension as normal laces as they are elastic. They would have to be a must for Tri athletes.
Do wheelwork do any running shoes?
