ive bought an item from a seller in austria on 6th may. the seller contacted me to say they were sent on 9th but they have not arrived. when i contacted the seller he reconed the delivery service could not find my adress, and he thought the item may come back to him., then he would resend them. he also asked to verify my adress which i did. i asked him to keep me informed at all stages. now i havnt heard anything since last week. this has never happened to me before so im usnsure whats the protocol. its not a lot of money but i dont think its fair on me having paid. anyone dealt with somthing like this before?

If you used paypal you are protected - #

You have 45 days to lodge a complaint from date of sale

yes i used paypal, but would people usually wait the 45 days to give them a chance?

I'd give it one more week then open a dispute, then give it a bit more time before escalating it to a claim

He "spoke" to the delivery company? Yeah right. Tell him you want proof in the form of a tracking ID and a copy of your signature showing it was delivered to your address. This sounds like complete BS, so I'd start the Paypal dispute now. Give him a few days to respond before escalating to a claim.
