I will be out of work soon and will be moving from Dublin to Galway. My girlfriend is renting a place by herself and is working getting around 350 a week. I was wondering when i move in with her and apply for jobseekers allowance will i get the full rate even though she is working or will i be means tested? Any help will…

If you follow the rules and say that you are living together you will be means tested.

I am aware of the means test my girlfriend is renting a place for 725 a month and as i said she get 343 a week. in what way will this affect my jobseekers allowance claim i have been trying to calulate my means but im not sure im doing it right!

It looks like the total amount you 2 would get singing on would be 326 a week
if herself is getting 353 you might not be able to get any jsa,I dont know if the make a allowance against rent
