Looking for somewhere to book for a large group for a weekend away, preferably in a county not too far from Dublin. Having trouble finding weekend only, as it is mostly for the week. Also not many places seem to cater for 10+. Anyone have any recommendations? Semi secluded would be ideal also.

Prices quoted online are usually weekly, call them and they should give you a weekend rate. Bear in mind that this means the place may be vacant on the week before or after your weekend, so the price might not be too far off a full week. (does that make any sense??)

What's a 'large group'? If people dont mind kipping on couches then a 10 bedded house would cater for 16-18. Generally, owners wouldnt be delighted about it, but they dont have to know ;) Just dont wreck the place.

Im basing the above on a house we rented in Kerry. 17 of us in a 10-bed. We arrived at different times over the course of a friday night/saturday morning, so when we got the keys the owner assumed there was just 8 of us. They came back to settle up with us on the monday and saw the 5 cars and 17 of us but were grand about it as the place was clean and nothing broken. The price for the bank holiday was pretty much the same as a full week.

Cant recommend anywhere, as i've only ever done this in Kerry, and thats not too close to Dublin for ya. There should be loads in Wicklow though

Yeah there will be a large group of us for a 30th, so we won't all be kipping in beds I guess but don't want to state what we are going for either, won't be wrecking the gaf, but somewhere secluded would be better for everyone :)

    What about here: http://www.irishlandmark.com/PropertyInformation.aspx?propertyid=20

I stayed here for a weekend a few years ago and it's an amazing location. It's very secluded as well. The rooms are big and you have sitting areas as well so you could definitely fit in a few more people with blow up mattresses.

Edit: I forgot to mention the castle

Wow, that's excellent, unfortunately there is none for the weekend we are looking for :(

Will have to bookmark that site though.

What Ross Castle? You've been there before.. do you think you could fit everyone in?

I think 15 or 16 is the most I've gotten in there.

Yeah I had a look at that earlier and it looked a bit pricey from the site I accessed. Doesn't look too bad there though, might look into it, ta.
