last of the PS2 gamers??

OK, I'm not much of a gamer and I've had a PS2 gathering dust for ages. Recently I turned it on for the first time in about 3 years! (having children did it to me:D)

I popped into my local Gamestop the other day thinking I could grab a few cheap PS2 games but no, not one to be found. I'm looking for some decent racing games, Formula One etc.

Have shops stopped stocking PS2 games? I know it's fair enough I suppose given PS3 etc...I'm just stuck in the past but I don't play enough to merit the cost of the latest consoles.

So, am I better off buying my few PS2 games on ebay?

It's probably different from store to store but I'm sure I've seen a few gamestops recently with still a few second hand PS2 games knocking around.

Even if they don't have them on display you might get lucky and they could have them in the store room or somethign although I've known stores like that to straight up throw older games like that in the bin. Who knows you might get lucky.

Ebay might be cheaper than those rip off merchants though.

'Game' usually have a good selection of PS2 games and they're usually on offer for several together and stuff!

Not sure where you are but Gamestop in Limerick cresent chopping centre have a load of games without a box on the counter i think 4 for a tenner. Might be worth checking. Most stores will still have a bit of a section.

Failing that ebay is always a good bet.

I popped into the Gamestop closet to my work (dun laoghaire) on the way home and it still had a whole rack devoted to PS2 games. All about 3.99 each and I'm sure it's not the only branch that would still have them so looks like it's easy enough to find them between game and gamestop.

My local Gamestop has loads of cheap PS2 games also. Gamestop would be your best bet.

clonmel gamestop still has a small section of them for about 4 euro

I'd add Beyond Good and Evil and Killer7 to that list.

thanks for the info folks, I suppose I just checked Gamestop in Douglas, Cork and they had nothing for PS2. I'll try some place in town (or probably ebay as it's less hassle than heading into town).

Seeing that your in Cork, head into the xtra vision in blackpool shopping centre, theyve ps3 games up by the counter for €5.Only in slip cases though.They must be games that were rented out.

Yea there ps2, there only the discs , had a flick through them on friday, saw metal gear in there.
